Carin Travel was opened by Carin Otway in Mississauga, Canada in 1974. Two years later a branch was opened in Young Street, Toronto.
In 1978 The first independent IATA agency was opened in Grenada. Carin Travel became renowned for bringing in tour operators who used Barbados and Trinidad as their gateway and carried tourists to Grenada only on LIAT – the Caribbean Airline.
Carin Travel and its brand, Carib Tours were the first to be appointed by KUONI, Speedbird Holidays and BA Holidays. From Germany, ITS, Liethold Tours from Freibung and KLM, Delta and PanAm appointments date back to the early 80’s.
Rapid expansion as a leading IATA world-wide air ticket specialist saw agency appointments of airlines such as Wardair, Adventure Tours, Signature Vacations and Canada3000 Airlines, Zoom Airlines, Air Transat, GG Tours and a host of adhoc operators appointed Carib Tours for its excellent Ground Representation services. Of these the the most presteigous for five years was Air Canada Vacations.
Carin Travel Services Ltd is the oldest IATA appointed agency in Grenada. The business was rebranded in 2006 as CaribJet. CaribJet Grenada has won awards from Virgin Atlantic, LIAT and Air Jamaica for outstanding sales amongst other Airlines for excellence.
CaribJet now has its Head Office in the Caribbean where a number of airlines are represented. Airport Supervision of Ramp, Sales and Marketing and Check-in are done for such airlines as Sunwing, Bahamasair, Conviasa, Condor, Aero Caribe, Venezolana, TIA, Chilean Airways. Many former airline clients appointed us such as XL Airways, Caledonian, JMC and Monarch.
To and From the European market, Condor Flugdienst, Cubana, Air France, KLM, Virgin Atlantic, British Airways are the main airlines we promote. Our team of ex- Airline Managers specializes in complex stopovers, Island-Hopping and multiple destinations. We offer a variety of world class International Airlines, such as Emirates, Qatar, Oman Air and more.
All IATA tickets are immediately issued by our Caribbean office as Ticket Providers and e-tickets emailed the same day.
CaribJet UK was formed in 1982 and the UK High Street Ticket office was closed in May 2016 for walk-in. UK clients use our WhatsApp channels, email and our websites.
Today Carin Travel Services Ltd has two divisions. CaribJet which is IATA accredited and licensed to issue tickets on-the- spot and Carib Tours its Airline Representation GSA and Airport Services.
CaribJet Walk-in Ticket Office is conveniently located on Maurice Bishop Highway not far from the end of the Runway at Grenada.
